A number of booths have sprung up near the shoreline, enticing you to don yourself in the colorful festive garb of a true Bermuda native! Unwind from your day and come out to see what's offered. ♥ There are all sorts of delicious foods and snacks, and plenty of souvenirs. It's time to ring in the New Year of 2012! Lanterns have been strung up, and the snow seems to have stopped. In fact, no snow is to be seen near the site of the festival itself. Oddly, the booths are all run by strange black goatlike creatures in finely tailored suits...

The catch is, unless you sneak in, you have to come with a friend or a date! So find someone to go in with you! ♥ You may even catch a glimpse of Eureka as she wanders the festival... ]

[Kukaku, in an overly dramatic fashion that could only be attributed to the Shiba family, pulls him into a one-armed hug.]

I hope your brother knows how lucky he is to have such a good kid like you for a brother! And I get stuck with a whiny cry-baby like Ganju!! It's just not fairrr!

[She shouts this to the heavens, in an act the likes of which only her brother could manage equally. She loves Ganju, she really does. She wouldn't give him up for the world. But he is sometimes a gigantic pain in the ass.]

Ah--[Oh, that was unexpected. Fletcher side glances at her in the hug, surprised at first, but then he smiles warmly and decides to hug her back.]

D-don't worry. Its because he cares about his sister a lot.

[Yeah, that might've been repetitive but he really believed that. He'd have to make sure to look out for Kukaku for her brothers' sakes. He knew his brother would do the same for him.]

Hopefully he'll grow out of being such a brat when he gets a bit older.

[She hugs him a bit tighter and then releases him. It's comforting to have something like family around. She's depended on family for so long she's not sure if she could function without it.]

[It felt nice to get a hug from a woman, after losing his mother he didn't really have any females to look after him. It was just him, his brother and father, until he left the brothers to take care of themselves.]

We are both totally wonderful.

Well, knowing Kaien, he'll smack Ganju into line, even if I'm not there to help. So we probably don't need to worry too much.

I guess you're a pro at this. I'll practice everytime I get the chance. Did you enjoy that game? [He hoped she did, he didn't want to think he'd dragged her around to play boring things.]

[Kukaku laughs a bit and nods.]

It's fun! I normally don't get to do this kind of stuff as a game! And it's nice to do this kind of thing with someone who doesn't cheat like my brothers!

[Even though she tends to cheat just as much when playing with them. But they do it first! She's just trying to even the odds!

She turns to look at the souvenirs. There's a bit of a delay in realizing that he called her 'sis', but when it does occur to her, she smiles and pats him on the shoulder.]

What do you say we go pick some out?

Sounds like your brothers are quite mischievous at games too.

[He was a bit envious of the fact that she'd done fun things with her brothers. Fletcher had never really been able to enjoy these kinds of games. He was mostly busy with supporting his brother in everything he did.]

[He nods in agreement] Okay!

[It hadn't really been until their parents had passed away that Kukaku had really begun to enjoy spending time with her brothers. Before that it had always been them constantly defending themselves, especially her, for not playing by Noble rules.]

Heh... Yeah well, that's just how we are.

[She takes him over to the souvenir stand to check things out.]

I don't think that's such a bad thing though...

[He scans the collection of things on display, the souvenirs weren't too fancy but they looked fit for a native island and its inhabitants. There were things like, Seashell necklaces, and even colorfully decorated shells, among other things.

[She grinned and looked over the items at the stand. None of it was the sort of thing she tended to own, but she felt tonight was important and she wanted to get something. She just wasn't sure what.]

[That was certainly something he admired about her.]

[He'd never seen things like this before, so he was a bit unfamiliar with them. Then, he notices something that catches his eye. Pointing to it, the goat butler standing there hands it to him. But he doesn't show it to Kukaku just yet.]

[There are times when it's really not something to be admired, but it certainly sounds good.]

[She'd been looking at something else when he'd spotted it, so she doesn't see what he was handed, but she'd caught the motion of the goat butler out of the corner of her eye and looks back at Fletcher.]

[He nervously turns to reveal a sash decorated with small seashells going across the fabric. It wasn't much, and he didn't even know if she would like it, but he held it up to her.]

U-um, I thought you might like this. Y-you don't have to wear it though. I-I wanted to get you something in return for taking care of me the other day. And you said you l-like wearing loose things s-so um... [gosh, he was terrible at this...]

[She's a little surprised by it, that he actually got something for her... She took it carefully and smiled.]

It's great. I mean it. Thanks. Looks real warm too, so it'll be good while there's all this cold weather.

Nah.. This ain't something I have to wear because of nobility. It's a gift from a friend. So it's not like that. And I think it suits me just fine!

[She looks over and smiles, then musses his hair.]

You're tellin' this to a lady who talks to her sword. That ain't nearly the strangest thing I've ever heard. That just means ya got talent!

Oh.. Yeah. Well I mean, all Shingami do. They can only talk to their master, but they're alive and all.

Ru's is around the house sometimes. Don't know why she's separate from Ru, though. You seen her? Cold lady? All in white? A little too uptight for my taste, but a pretty okay chick? I avoid her mostly. The idea of talking to some other shingiami's zanpkauto make me uncomfortalbe.

But mine's kind of cranky and annoying. We have this sort of love-hate thing going where we mostly just argue and yell at each other, but we're pretty close deep down.

Ah, do you mean miss Shirayuki? I met her, she was very nice! She said she has never been separated from her master before, and it sounds like they have a close relationship. I enjoyed talking with her a lot.

[He laughs] It sounds like yours suits you just right Kukaku, with that kind of relationship.
