HAPPY NEW YEAR'S AND A MERRY CHRISTMAS
[ Best wishes from Bermuda Isle!

A number of booths have sprung up near the shoreline, enticing you to don yourself in the colorful festive garb of a true Bermuda native! Unwind from your day and come out to see what's offered. ♥ There are all sorts of delicious foods and snacks, and plenty of souvenirs. It's time to ring in the New Year of 2012! Lanterns have been strung up, and the snow seems to have stopped. In fact, no snow is to be seen near the site of the festival itself. Oddly, the booths are all run by strange black goatlike creatures in finely tailored suits...
The catch is, unless you sneak in, you have to come with a friend or a date! So find someone to go in with you! ♥ You may even catch a glimpse of Eureka as she wanders the festival... ]

Then you already know we're being held captive by the Witch of Opportunity at latitude-longitude roughly 32° 20'N, 64° 45'W, in the center of the Bermuda Triangle, and that we're nowhere near the proper climate for all of this snow.

Then her shoulders freeze.]
This is not possible...

[He flips a page in the book, pausing and frowning at some bold, handwritten kanji on a page int he middle of the book before turning the page again.]
But to discount the possibility of anything causes very drastic limitations and in a situation like this that can be incredibly hazardous.

Unfortunately getting information that is painfully slow since she seems to have blocked an extensive amount of my access to this world's bookshelves.
[He pauses, remembering back to when he was able to actually unlock a few entries.]
...Though with proper keywords, I seem to be able to trump her access...
If that "scanner" of yours can raise the right questions, I may be able to get answers.

[Her face flushes dark green. Oh how Querla hates magic. The very word irritates her. Almost as much as a cockroach!]
But.. [She looks Philip up in down.] You seem to be a man of rationality. Can you really answer my questions?

going on here. And given that we've got snow in Bermuda I'm willing to run with the theory for the time being, since it coincides with what little information I've been able to gain access to.
I can try. As I've said, Lady Eureka has, somehow, managed to limit my access to the Planetary Bookshelves. So my information on her and what she can do, as well as this place, is fairly limited. But I'm working as fast as I can with the help of some others.
But provided with proper Keywords, I can give whatever information I can access.

[Her brow arches at the mention of 'Planetary Bookshelves'. What could he mean by that? She peers over her folded arms to look at the tome held so precariously in Philip's hands.]
What network do you have access to that could provide you with that kind of data just at the touch of your fingertips?

[He turns a page, scan is over, and then looks up from the book with a completely calm smile.]
The world itself.

The world?

But I have the potential to have access to all of the information that this world has to offer. This includes entries that I had access to at home, and information brought by others along with the information of this world.
But, as I said, entries not from my own world seem to have been locked.

[He's gone a bit more solemn while talking about it. He'd only been "alive" again a short time before he woke up here, and he's worried about people back home.]

Data made in sentient flesh? And you are still able to connect to your main database?
no subject
I am still able to connect to the Planetary Bookshelves, and I still have significant access... But without Keywords, it is difficult to sort through what I am able to access.

[He shakes his head, looking to the book briefly, then back to her.]
The more specific the better, but general terms are also acceptable. One might lead to another. Any knowledge is better than none.

Philip, the right half of Kamen Rider Double, and the research section of the Narumi Detective Agency. A pleasure to meet you.

[He shakes her hand and then releases it.]
I don't think we're even legally licensed as detectives, though we have some friends in the police department, and we are good at what we do.
But I would rather just go by names than titles.

[Querla glances down at her hand. Truth be told, she honestly doesn't make any physical contact with many people. Back home, not many people had wanted to shake the hand of the descendant of Brainiac, and as she'd grown, she'd learned to keep her appendages close to her body to discourage any ideas.]
I am part of a team of misfits--and I say that as politely as possible--who are charged with guarding the galaxy when their own stupidity does not cause them to trip over their own two feet. [She puts her hand back at her side, and looks at Philip.] Or destroying part of my lab.

I'm a part of something similar to that myself. Likely on a much smaller scale, but none the less...

[He loves Shotaro and the others but they're all completely irrational most of the time. But it works for them.]
I'm just.. Philip. I suppose there are other things I could be called but.. none of them quite suit me as well as "Philip".
Would you prefer to be called Brainiac 5? Or Querla? Ms. Dox?
[He's a rather accommodating fellow. Mostly because he's not suited to being alone, and he's trying to befriend as many people as he can. And it would be nice to have someone to research with.]
