1 - Spring Cleaning

[After finding a nice guest house with a clear path down to the beach and a nice view, Tsuuma began the job of cleaning it up. It was a bit dusty and the bedding in the bedrooms needed to be washed, but she was surprised that the food in the kitchen seemed fresh and unspoiled. Perhaps this Lady Eureka, whoever she was, really was preparing to keep them for a while.

Not that Tsuuma was all that concerned by it. Her family was here, and that was all that mattered to her. Plus there were some very nice people around. They were different from her old friends back home, but they seemed friendly and it was much better than being alone. Tsuuma, really, was very happy here.

She had set up a clothes line and was hanging some of the linens now, Memusu bringing her a basket with more things that needed to be hung to dry before going back inside.]

Air-dried laundry...?

How very domestic.

[ El has been snooping around for information, but she can't help the strange homeliness the sight evokes in her. It was as if they were settling in far too easily. ]

I've always preferred it to using a machine.

[She tosses a sheet over the line, smoothing it out, acting as if someone she'd never met before talking to her about laundry wasn't strange at all.]

How terribly inefficient! Why, machines have only made our lives more convenient!

It's more efficient, yes, but it's not as though I'm in any rush... I've got plenty of time to let it dry out here. After all, I won't need any of it until this evening.

And if they're still wet, I'll put a few in the machine to make the beds with tonight and leave the rest out to dry. It doesn't look like it will rain.

My husband is around somewhere as well. He's likely gone off exploring.

Oh, yes. That's Memusu. She was helping me with the laundry. I'm not sure where Viral's gone off to. Likely to checkout the area. He did seem very concerned about threats...

She is.. Though she can be a handful. She really does take so much after her father...

[Her ears go back, and she becomes a bit more serious. If there's a threat, she wants to know about it.]

I think the fish on this island are carnivores. [Here comes daddy walking up to the house, grumbling, with a bucket of fish he'd fetched an hour ago. There are bite marks on his fingers from where the fish had tried to nibble off his appendages.]

Look at you.. You're a mess, dear. They weren't that hard to catch were they?
