[Shirayuki has been spending a lot of time outside now that the snow has fallen. The wildlife doesn't seem pleased about it and all the birds she's come into contact with have done nothing but squawk irritably over it. It makes sense, she supposes, if it's not supposed to be this cold here. But she is very much enjoying it. It reminds her of home...

But even so, her situation is rather peculiar, and still she's not fully sure what to make of it. There are, at minimum, at least three other shinigami here, and their zanpakuto have not been separated from them. None at all. Only her. Why her? What made her special?

Maybe it was because it was possible with her. She had been unglued from Rukia before. Maybe it was simply just not possible with the others. Those bonds had never been severed as hers and Rukia's had. Maybe that's all the reason there was...

Shirayuki couldn't be sure. She was still bothered by it none the less, and she was dealing with that on top of various sources of guilt and the compulsive need to protect her master, even when they were separated like this.

She rest her face in one hand. She was getting a headache.]

...Perhaps a vacation from all of that fighting and worrying will do me some good.

In a way, yes. Taking action before trying to think things through. It not always a good thing to do...but still.

It was horribly frustrating for Zangetsu and I while I was there...

It sounds like it was tough for you. But, you can take a break from things like that and fighting, right?

It was disorienting, but at the very least, I was able to aid Zangetsu in aiding Kurosaki, and in doing so was able to indirectly protect Rukia-sama.

Yes.... I am glad for that much at least. When I arrived here, we were on the verge of war. We were engaged in a rescue and it was not going well...

It is best I was taken when I was. We were... not in a good position. Though it seems we make it out all right.

One of Rukia-sama's friends was taken by the enemy. But I think, somehow, time is unaffected by this place. So I am not concerned.

[She smiles, reaching out to pat him on the head. Her hand is freezing. Her body is completely devoid of heat.]

Oh, you're cold. You should be somewhere warmer. Is the snow really cold for you?

[She seems a bit surprised by the comment, and then laughs and shakes her head.]

No no... I am fine. This is much more preferable than somewhere warm.

I am an ice type. This is what is natural to me. I am always cold.

Yes, that is correct.

My power is focused in ice and snow. The environment I am used to is very much like this, so I am very comfortable now that there is snow. It was too warm for my taste prior to this.

Oh. I'm not used to this weather. The trees seem so stiff and look withered. I hope they can grow healthy again once the snow melts off of them.

They merely sleep. That is what things do in the winter. They sleep. When warmth returns, they will awaken.

Actually, as much as I like this weather, I am a bit excited for it myself. I have never seen a world in full bloom.

Oh, I think you will really like it. The trees and plants look much better in the warmer weather. Of course, [he gently places a hand on a nearby tree with snow covering most of it] I'll be happy to aid in the growth of them if I need to.

[And now she's curious. He has no reiatsu, being a living being with no connection to the dead. So she has no idea what he means by that. She walks to the tree, looking at it, and then at him.]

Oh, I'm sorry. You see, I can control the growth of botanical things like plants. I can also use them for...fighting but, [he clutches his shirt near his chest] I prefer to avoid that. My dad didn't like me using my alchemy, though.
