HAPPY NEW YEAR'S AND A MERRY CHRISTMAS
[ Best wishes from Bermuda Isle!

A number of booths have sprung up near the shoreline, enticing you to don yourself in the colorful festive garb of a true Bermuda native! Unwind from your day and come out to see what's offered. ♥ There are all sorts of delicious foods and snacks, and plenty of souvenirs. It's time to ring in the New Year of 2012! Lanterns have been strung up, and the snow seems to have stopped. In fact, no snow is to be seen near the site of the festival itself. Oddly, the booths are all run by strange black goatlike creatures in finely tailored suits...
The catch is, unless you sneak in, you have to come with a friend or a date! So find someone to go in with you! ♥ You may even catch a glimpse of Eureka as she wanders the festival... ]

[The voice might be similar to that being, but by appearance it looked almost nothing like Ecolo. This person looks almost completely normal.]
Who are you going with in the festival?
no subject
...Ah.. I.. I don't know. The people I'd normally go to something like this with aren't here.
no subject
Is that so? That's a bit of a pity, I think people wouldn't mind company though.
[He innocently tilted his head.] Are you alright, though?
no subject
I'm all right. I just haven't felt well for the past day or so.
no subject
But why don't we go to the festival together? I heard you need to be with a partner to get in the festival, and I'm always up to make new friends. I'm Ringo by the way, nice to meet you!
no subject
All right. I've never been to a festival before, so I would hate to miss out.
My name is Philip. It's nice to meet you too.
no subject
And don't worry, it's my first time too, so we can try a lot of stuff.
no subject
That sounds... fun.
[He offers his hand. He's still a little suspicious, but really, he figures this can turn out any worse than Wakana.]
no subject
He curiously look at everything, from the booths, to the decorations. It was something all new for the strange being.]
How curious~

There seem to be a multitude of cultures represented here, and he sees a lot of Japanese food stands as he passes, but he seems very very set on whatever it is he's looking for.]
no subject
What're you looking for?
no subject
I read about this once! My friend told me about it and I dropped what I was doing to find out more! It sounds really good. Do you want some too? We can share it.
[Any paranoid he might have had seems to have been put aside for the sake of some long forgotten research coming full circle. He wished that Akiko was here to have some too, since she was the one who had introduced him to it back when she had first arrived.]

...believe this.
no subject
..What is that?
no subject
Oh, a person. What is with that dopey look? Bah!
Querla frowns.]
A scanner.
no subject
Well that's rather vague... I suppose it's a biological scanner. Unless it's a mineral scanner, though really I can't see much of a practical purpose for either other than identifying the region by the plant life or sediment.
And if it were just a case of figuring out where you are it would probably be easier to just ask.
[Oh. He's smarter than he looks. though the fact that he's got a large leather-bound book tucked under one arm might add to that.]
no subject
Nah.]
If you must know... [She closes her eyes and begins with her imperious, Brainiac tone.] ...my scanner tells me far more than someone else can. It scans right down to the molecular levels and subatomic particles. It will tell me what intent lies within this place, and give me a precise reading of what dangers I could encounter.

Then you already know we're being held captive by the Witch of Opportunity at latitude-longitude roughly 32° 20'N, 64° 45'W, in the center of the Bermuda Triangle, and that we're nowhere near the proper climate for all of this snow.
no subject
Then her shoulders freeze.]
This is not possible...
no subject
[He flips a page in the book, pausing and frowning at some bold, handwritten kanji on a page int he middle of the book before turning the page again.]
But to discount the possibility of anything causes very drastic limitations and in a situation like this that can be incredibly hazardous.

Unfortunately getting information that is painfully slow since she seems to have blocked an extensive amount of my access to this world's bookshelves.
[He pauses, remembering back to when he was able to actually unlock a few entries.]
...Though with proper keywords, I seem to be able to trump her access...
If that "scanner" of yours can raise the right questions, I may be able to get answers.
no subject
[Her face flushes dark green. Oh how Querla hates magic. The very word irritates her. Almost as much as a cockroach!]
But.. [She looks Philip up in down.] You seem to be a man of rationality. Can you really answer my questions?
no subject
going on here. And given that we've got snow in Bermuda I'm willing to run with the theory for the time being, since it coincides with what little information I've been able to gain access to.
I can try. As I've said, Lady Eureka has, somehow, managed to limit my access to the Planetary Bookshelves. So my information on her and what she can do, as well as this place, is fairly limited. But I'm working as fast as I can with the help of some others.
But provided with proper Keywords, I can give whatever information I can access.
