First Transmutation
[As the small boy wakes up, dressed in his green jumper and hat, he shivers slightly and notices all the snow around. Standing up, he tugs on one of his ear flaps and slowly looks around the island. Clearly, he was lost. Was he alone?]
How did I get here? Or rather, where is here...?
[He'll be walking around with no real destination in mind.]

Um...someone brought us here?

[Gestures to the mansion that looms over the island.]

A note? Someone must live on this island then...but, why would they bring people here?

[She doesn't want to explain to this kid that she's from the place where dead people go. That's just morbid.]

[She grins a bit and pats the sword and badge tied to what's left of her other arm.]
My job's to protect people! I fight monsters! You don't need to be scared of me!

Someone's got to. If we don't, then the monsters will hurt people and no one will stop them. If we worry about ourselves, then no one will protect anyone else.
I'm pretty strong though, and I've got plenty of tricks up my sleeve. So I can handle whatever comes at me.
[She means that literally, and to prove it, she lifts up the sleeve that the sword and badge are tied to. Instead of another arm, there is a string of bombs tied up there.]

[He sees them and his eyes widen in surprise.] Do you always carry those kinds of things around?
no subject
[She laughs a bit and pulls the sleeve back down.]
Of course. I don't feel right without them. They're sort of the family business.
no subject
Family business?

Of course, I've got this other job fighting monsters, but it was still something I learned to do as a kid and I'd make some whenever I got a chance.

Of course then my older brother decided I needed to do something "productive" and shipped me off for this dumb job. But it was worth it. My friends were there, and I was able to set him up with his wife, and I met a lot of great people.
It was a pretty good life.

But so long as he was trying to do the right thing, that's all that matters.

...[If she knew about the people that suffered because he was too scared to stop his brother, she might have thought differently.]

But, if I'm really lucky, Ru will have learned from my mistakes.
She did what I couldn't, and I'm proud of her for that.If nothing else, I went out knowing I trained her right.

So, she might be okay?
